Mission and Focus
We equip freight transportation providers with customer-facing portals that enrich their customer relationships and market credibility, that propel internal and external efficiencies, and that add tangible value.
436 Software is laser focused on providing interfaces to our customers’ customers, by offering them insights to and interactivity with the operating systems that our customers utilize day-to-day.
We do not provide operating software and we do not aspire to. Instead, we combine our agile and modular customer-facing web and API tools (front-ends) with rapid and low-cost integrations to the various operating systems that our customers use to run their businesses (back-ends).
We provide “single pane of glass” style visibility and interactivity to our customers’ customers, and do so in a customer-themed and -branded fashion, with a software as a service business model.
“What’s in a name?”
On May 10, 1869, at Promontory Summit, Utah, a ceremonial golden spike joined North America’s first transcontinental railroad. The original golden spike is on display at the Cantor Arts Museum at Stanford University and it weighs 436 grams. The name 436 Software pays homage to what we view as one of the most noteworthy events in surface transportation history. Though only ceremonial, the golden spike played a pivotal role in connecting transportation across the USA.
